The accomplished chef, Taka Satate (formerly of Taka Restaurant & Octopus Garden), has opened a restaurant where the food is as sophisticated as the surroundings. An expert at preparing sushi and sashimi, which are unique as well as gorgeous, he is also a French saucier. This means that if you order either the fish or meat dishes, or even the special eel roll, they are accompanied by a delicate French sauce. The appetizer list is especially appealing with its Santa Fe Soft-shell Crab Gratin, monkfish marinated in cognac, or Cajun king crab legs. Chef Taka has facilities for large parties; the service is impeccable, and the desserts are continental.

Takashige and wife Kayako Satate have been a staple in San Diego Sushi for the past 20 years. Responsible for opening Taka Restaurant of of 5th Avenue in downtown San Diego, the restaurant still stands today holding a familiar moniker. After selling Taka Restaurant, they moved on to open another famous landmark called Octopus Garden.
After many years, Taka and Kayako have decided to settle in La Mesa, CA where their San Diego restaurant venture originated.
